Central Arizona College, also known as CAC is a community college located in the county of Coolidge in the state of Arizona. The college serves the District of Pinal County. CAC was established in 1961. The school is made up of three campuses. There is the main campus, the Signal Peak campus found in Coolidge Arizona. The Aravaipa Campus located in Winkelman Arizona and the Superstition Mountain Campus, found in the Apache Junction in Arizona.
The school also operates an additional six educational centers to serve the growing student population in Pinal County. These centers include the Florence Center located in Florence, Arizona, the Maricopa Center found in Maricopa, Arizona, The Casa Grande and Corporate Centers, located in Casa Grande, Arizona, the Coolidge Training and Assessment Center, found in Coolidge, Arizona and the San Tan/Johnson Ranch Center in Queen Creek, Arizona.
CAC offers 2-year several courses that students can continue to earn their 4-yeardegrees with other Universities and colleges affiliated with the school. These degrees include A.A., A.B., A.S., A.A.E.E., A.G.S., or A.A.S. degrees. Central Arizona College also offers a variety of academic programs that can lead to the granting of occupational certificates. Graduates that have earned these certificates can continue their education elsewhere or join the workforce directly.
CAC participates in the National Junior College Athletic Association division 1 sporting events where they have won 35 National Titles. The school also participates in the Arizona Community College Athletic Conference, and the Western States Football League. CAC fields more than ten intercollegiate teams. Men's sports that are played in CAC include basketball, baseball, cross country, track and field and rodeo. The women sporting teams compete in basketball, cross country, softball, track and field and rodeo. The school colors are green and gold. The school nicknames are the Vaqueros and Vaqueras. Vaquero is the Spanish term for cowboy.
